Community of Practice #1:
“Managing the implementation and acceptance of cultural competence training for health care organization staff”
This Community of Practice will focus on the issues faced in the selection, implementation, and integration of cultural competence training for the staff of large and small health care organizations. Participants will play a key role in developing the agenda for discussion over the course of the project. Discussion topics may include how to: evaluate the format, content and quality of a specific curriculum or trainer; lay the groundwork in an organization for successful implementation; encourage willing and meaningful staff participation in the program; evaluate the impact of training; support and sustain the benefits of training over the long-term.
This Community of Practice started in June 2009 with 15 participants from around the country, and will meet for 12 months. The group will produce a public resource of information collected and discussed during meetings -- we will post a link here when the resource is available.
