Local Planning Efforts

Working with stakeholders in Minneapolis-St. Paul and the Midwest region

We’re very excited to be able to hold this conference in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, which we know to be rich in cultural diversity, and the home to many long-standing and innovative programs and policies for delivering health care in culturally and linguistically appropriate ways. It is our tradition to work closely with individuals and organizations that have interest and expertise in cross cultural health care from the area where the conference will be held.

As part of our planning, the conference producers convened a group of local stakeholders to discuss how to best work with and incorporate local expertise in the design of the conference. A group of 35 individuals from a variety of Twin Cities area organizations gathered for three hours on October 9 in Minneapolis. The meeting started with a presentation about the conference series from Julia Puebla Fortier, one of the conference co-producers and facilitator of the stakeholder meeting. The group then offered responses to the local input questionnaire sent out in advance.

The following documents are available for anyone interested in learning about or participating in the ongoing local and regional planning efforts:

    2. Local input questionnaire (this can still be filled out and sent to the conference organizers)
    3. Regional input questionnaire (this can still be filled out and sent to the conference organizers)
