Call for Proposals NOW OPEN!

1/4/2010

The conference planning committee announces a call for presentation proposals for the 2010 conference. We invite health care professionals, community representatives, advocates, policymakers, researchers and others from the U.S. and other countries to submit brief proposals for a variety of presentation formats.

We invite proposals in the following thematic categories:
  • language access
  • culturally competent care/disparity reduction
  • cultural competence/disparity reduction education and training
  • organizational cultural competence
  • policy
  • research
Information on the 2010 topics and formats can be found at the links for Step 1 below.

For previous conferences, the number of proposals received in each category has ranged from 10 to 40. At the 2010 conference, we aim to have approximately 10-12 preconference sessions; 75-80 workshop presentations of 30 minutes each, 6-10 peer-to-peer, roundtable or special sessions, and about 40 posters. We don’t have a set number of presentations reserved for each thematic category, but do try to keep a good balance. As in 2008, presenation abstracts will be submitted, reviewed, and organized for the online conference program through an online abstract service, which streamlines the submission process.
