Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL QUESTIONS

How do I register for the conference?

Registration for the conference is now open!  Please click here to view information on registration fees, accommodations, local transportation, scholarships, and to register online.

How do I volunteer for the conference and can I receive complimentary registration for my efforts?

Similar to previous years, we are offering complimentary registration for those individuals who are able to volunteer their time working at the conference. Currently, 8 hours of volunteer time is required to receive complimentary registration.

In order to be considered for a volunteer position for the 2010 conference, please send your name, organization, contact information and availability for volunteering before, during and after the conference as well as the types of activities you are willing to help with (bag stuffing, registration, directing people, note taking, AV equipment setup, etc.) to conference@diversityrx.org or by calling 512-279-3917. Currently, 8 hours of volunteer time is required to receive complimentary registration.

How do I submit a presentation proposal for the conference?

The Call for Presentation Proposals is now closed.  We received nearly 350 submissions!  Thank you.

Are CEUs being offered for the conference?

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer CEUs at this time. The Conference is fortunate to have professional diversity among conference attendees.  However, offering multiple types of Continuing Education Units is costly and would force us to raise registration fees.

When is the deadline to apply for a scholarship?

A limited number of need-based scholarships toward registration fees are available.  Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis beginning in July 2010, so please apply early.  A link for the scholarship application is available from the "Registration and Logistics" page.  Notification to recipients will begin on July 15; therefore, we recommend submitting an application by July 1.

How can I join the conference mailing list?

To be added to the conference mailing list please send an email to conference@diversityrx.org.

What does being a Conference Partner entail?

Conference Partners are integral to ensuring the success of our conference. Partners help promote the conference through various forms, such as, weblinks, listservs, newsletters, mailings, etc.  To be recognized as a Conference Partner in conference materials, please visit the Conference Partner page and complete the Conference Partner Form by clicking here to indicate how you will be able to help promote the conference. Conference Partner organizations will be recognized on the conference website as well as in print materials for the conference.

What does being a Conference Sponsor entail?

A conference sponsor provides the financial backing that enables us to present one of the most respected and well-supported conferences on cultural competence and health disparities reduction in the United States. For more information on how to become a conference sponsor, please contact Candice Mathew Healy at chealy22@comcast.net or (413) 754-3119.

Can another attendee co-present with me?

Only one presenter per presentation proposal is permitted, unless you are presenting a full conference session.  This is based up very limited presenter time slots as well as ensuring time for our attendees to take full advantage of the Question and Answer time that is reserved.
