Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL QUESTIONS

How do I register for the conference?

Registration for the conference will open in April 2010.  Please click here to view more information on registration including pricing and further details on attending the conference.

How do I volunteer for the conference and can I receive complimentary registration for my efforts?

Similar to previous years, we are offering complimentary registration for those individuals who are able to volunteer their time working at the conference. Currently, 8 hours of volunteer time is required to receive complimentary registration.

In order to be considered for a volunteer position for the 2010 conference, please send your name, organization, contact information and availability for volunteering before, during and after the conference as well as the types of activities you are willing to help with (bag stuffing, registration, directing people, note taking, AV equipment setup, etc.) to conference@diversityrx.org or by calling 512-279-3917. Currently, 8 hours of volunteer time is required to receive complimentary registration.

How do I submit a presentation proposal for the conference?

In order to submit a presentation proposal please click here to visit the 2010 Call for Proposals page. You will be encouraged to read the background materials about the conference available on the Call for Proposals page and also to read the Rules of Participation for submitting a proposal. After you have read and accepted these rules, you will be directed to the online abstract submission form.

Directions for completing the online abstract submission form can be viewed at the site you will be referred to once you accept the rules of participation (an external link) and printed out for further reference while you are completing the process. You may work on and revise your submission at any point up to February 1, 2010 – after that date, your submission will be considered complete as entered.

Are CEUs being offered for the conference?

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer CEUs at this time. The Conference is fortunate to have professional diversity among conference attendees.  However, offering multiple types of Continuing Education Units is costly and would force us to raise registration fees.

When is the deadline to apply for a scholarship?

Scholarship applications are not currently being accepted.  Scholarship materials will be posted when registration opens in April 2010.  A limited number of need-based scholarships toward registration fees will be available at that time.  Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis beginning in May 2010, so please apply early.  A link for the scholarship application will be available here in April.  Notification to recipients will begin on July 15; therefore, we recommend submitting an application by July 1.

How can I join the conference mailing list?
